Task 1: Variable Detection

Start: July 18, 2022, midnight

Description: Variable Detection deals with identifying whether a sentence contains a variable mention or not. This is a binary text classification task. For each sentence, predict whether it contains a variable (1) or not (0).

Task 2: Variable Disambiguation

Start: July 18, 2022, midnight

Description: Variable Disambiguation deals with identifying which variable from a given vocabulary is mentioned in a sentence. This can be framed as an extreme multi-label text classification task. For each sentence, predict the 10 most likely variables, assigning the predicted variable IDs scores (e.g., {'exploredata-ZA3910_VarINCOME': '0.5'}). A higher score implies higher likelihood of the variable being a correct one.
