hi. it says that max total submissions per participant is 5 in this phase. what i understand is its total of 5, not daily 5. but some teams have exceeded so i wanted to ask if its daily 5 or total 5

Yes, 5 is the total limit. For some reason, the leaderboard also counts submissions that return an error (instead of a score), but they don't count toward the limit.
